Following the production of three tarot decks, I decided to not do any more. I felt that I had exhausted the theme from my perspective. Nevertheless the idea of creating a set of images that would serve for meditation and divination was still a compelling one. A tarot deck with its structure of major and minor arcanas, suites, numerical order symbolism and meanings has limitations. To stray too far from this structure runs the risk of alienating traditionalists or being problematic for those who are already used to the established format for their readings.

By comparison an Oracle deck provides a platform that is free of any pre-established format. I am excited by the flexibility this offers. This deck, tentatively named "Oracle of Visions" will consist of an eclectic array of surrealistic imagery that will hopefully offer an intriguing range of questions and possibilities from its users. While it won't have specific suites, it will have various ways that the cards can be grouped, and a rational for how different cards could work in combinations or spreads.

The following gallery shows some of the cards. They are all work in progress, not final versions. They may and probably will change in various ways before final production. Their titles are also tentative at this point.

This project probably won't be finished until the end of the year, and I'm not clear at this point wether it will be mass produced by a major publisher or self published as a limited edition.
