The Gilded Tarot was my first attempt at creating a tarot deck and much like the leading character the Fool himself, it represents the beginning of my own personal tarot journey. It reflects some naivity and innocence certainly, but also respect and enthusiasm. Despite not being particularly well recieved by some critics and the more traditionalists of the tarot world, it nevertheless seems to have struck a positive chord with the general tarot comminity, both readers and their querants.
Since its release four years ago it has been reprinted several times and published in other countries and languages including Russia and the Czech Republic. A truly unplanned and unexpected response of which I am both suprized and very honored.
The excercise certainly increased my fascination with this incredible world of tarot, and immediately upon its completion, indeed even before it was actually published, I had been bitten by the bug and had started work on a new deck.
